Scorpio Season Garden Ideas

By Victoria Fuller

It’s Scorpio season! Whether you have Scorpio as your sun, moon, rising sign, or anywhere else on your zodiac chart we thought it would be interesting to dive into some of the traditional Scorpio traits and see how that would translate over to designing a raised garden bed with these plants and attributes in mind!

For those of you who are avid gardeners but aren’t too interested in the world of Zodiac signs, this post will still be handy to provide you some inspiration and perhaps to spark some astrological creativity in your garden!

Those born between October 23rd and November 21st have Scorpio as their sun sign, and it’s a possibility that you may have Scorpio in your astrological chart as well (this is determined by the precise time and location of your birth) so even if you are not born within this time frame there is a chance that Scorpio could still have an impact on some of your traits (if you choose to believe in that sort of thing!).

Scorpios generally have the following personality traits:

Passionate (they are often mistaken for Fire signs even though they are Water signs), loyal, ambitious, and devoted. Now this sounds to us like the makings of a perfect gardener!

When we consider that it is October/November during Scorpio season this does slightly limit our gardening options (especially for those of us living in chillier climates!) so we have made overall recommendations that we feel embody the traits of a Scorpio as opposed to the actual gardening season that it finds its home in, so without further ado here are our recommendations for your Scorpio garden:

Geraniums

Did you know that each zodiac sign has its own flower? Those who call Scorpio their sun sign are blessed to have the beautiful Geranium as their star sign! Geraniums have many layers of petals and blooms, similar to how Scorpios are known for showing different sides of themselves just when you think you know them!

Chrysanthemums

Scorpios are known for preferring smaller social circles, so the tight bunches and blooms of the beautiful Chrysanthemum (or “Mums”) are a great option for them! Chrysanthemums are also the birth flower for the month of November which encapsulates a large portion of the Scorpio star sign!

Marigolds

We mustn’t overlook the October Scorpios! Those born in October are lucky enough to call the beautiful Marigold their birth flower, and this works perfectly for Scorpios as marigolds are known for symbolizing motivation and energy which is perfectly aligned with the ambitious nature that many Scorpios possess.

Gladiolus

These beautiful blooms are known for requiring an incredible amount of determination and focus to cultivate, and thankfully those are two traits that Scorpios are known for!

So there we have it, four flower recommendations for your Scorpio garden. We would absolutely love to see your spin on a Zodiac garden so please feel free to email us your photos at info@cedarplanters.com or DM us on our Instagram page!
