I ordered 2 raised beds, a 24” and a 48” and I’m so happy with them for my new condo tiny patio gardening! I only have a very small concrete space and I’m using a lot of it for the raised beds, but it’s just me and my dog. I miss having more space and ground to plant in but these are perfect and give me a nice depth for growing flowers, herbs and maybe some veggies. I put the 24” one together first and it really is easy once you figure it out. They come with the wrench and all hardware and I watched just a part of the video to see how to do it. Very easy, the holes are all pre/drilled and I had zero issues. I ordered the garden grade but other than some of the slats for the bottom not looking “perfect” each side looks really nice! And the slats aren’t seen but are fully functional! Oh, all the legs on both of mine are sitting on the concrete so I didn’t need to get any of the platform feet, but if yours are going to be on the ground, if it’s soft, you may want them as the legs may easily sink into the ground. Mine are still a work in progress as far as planting in them but I’m happy and feel they’re worth the cost so far and hopefully will hold up outdoors for a good while! Thank you Cedar Planters!

Directions to assemble were clear, front of wood was nice but inside was way rougher and easier to get splinters if not wearing gloves. One side of the planter box had a large enough hole that would be a problem if not for the liner as well as a split in a piece of wood that forced me to not tighten the screws as much as the remaining ones . Grateful that all the screw holes actually lined up.

We are getting to the age where bending over gardening is not something we look forward to. The 30” height is perfect for standing and working on plants. This was the first planter we assembled and it went together pretty well. The engineering of the planters is very good and assembly is straightforward. See my review of the 48” planters for issues with possible issues of wood moving during the oiling process. Not a big factor on the 24” planters, but still some small issues getting the bolts in place easily. The stain/oil finish looks great. I’ll talk more about that in the 48” review as well. We have happy tomatoes growing in the 24” planter, but just started so still learning about growing in them.

I have done the Power Red many times. This particular time was the only time the procedure did not work and had to be discontinued. I'm not sure what happened but I felt bad because the procedure was not completed and no one was able to benefit because of my inability to donate. I really don't see any reason to blame anyone. I have already scheduled my next Power Red visit for July 9th. I'm working on 4 gallons + and that means that I have done this often and this was the only time that there were ever any problem.

The only problem I had was that two of the 1/2” x 1.5” interior supports were split by the screws attaching them. It wasn’t a big deal. I just made two new ones and replaced them. Maybe a little wider piece would work better. I think the screws used to attach them were driven in too far and the head of the screws split the boards.

Cedar is a natural insect repellent, protecting your garden from unwanted critters.

Gardening in a raised garden bed is an easier and longer-lasting gardening option. Raised garden beds provide a controlled gardening environment that allows for a longer growing season and extra protection for the plants. It is also easier to maintain and requires less weeding. You can avoid your soil being contaminated, and it is easier to replenish your soil each season, by simply adding organic material, compost, and/or mulch. The raised height makes it more difficult for critters to get your gorgeous plants. The raised height and built-in drainage helps to prevent flooding, drowned roots, and allows extra breathing room for your garden.
