We use galvanneal steel for our custom legs, a durable, strong, long-lasting, and rust-proof material. The legs are powder-coated to provide a durable and quality finish that is more resistant to chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing. This is also a more environmentally friendly finishing choice, containing no solvents and releasing virtually no VOCs into the atmosphere. This means no need for primers that can contain toxic carcinogenic properties. Powder coating is quicker, uses less energy through recycling heated air, and creates a reduced environmental impact.
We use FSC certified Western Red Cedar for all of our planters. Cedar is nontoxic, has beautiful natural colours and grain, as well as a wonderful aroma. It thrives in damp climates, withstands many conditions, resists rot, and does not shrink, swell, warp, or decay in weather changes. Cedar allows our planters to last all four seasons in any climate. Cedar is a natural insect repellent, protecting your garden from unwanted critters.
Gardening in a raised garden bed is an easier and longer-lasting gardening option. Raised garden beds provide a controlled gardening environment that allows for a longer growing season and extra protection for the plants. It is also easier to maintain and requires less weeding. You can avoid your soil being contaminated, and it is easier to replenish your soil each season, by simply adding organic material, compost, and/or mulch. The raised height makes it more difficult for critters to get your gorgeous plants. The raised height and built-in drainage helps to prevent flooding, drowned roots, and allows extra breathing room for your garden. Raised gardening is also an easy option for new gardeners, and provides better and more versatile crops for experienced gardens.
You can plant everything from vegetables, to herbs, to flowers. We provide a standard 12” planting depth that has enough root space for a variety of plants.
