We really like the planters. Pretty easy to assemble, however, we ordered two of the same and while assembling the second I realized that I got 7-8 boards that I personally felt should not have gone to a customer. They were pretty uneven and holy. I was able to complete the build anyway.

They are great and look great too. I have a suggestion that will probably add to your cost to manufacture but, will make assembly a lot easier.
The bolts and nuts would be easier to install if they were offset from the attached panel.

I purchased my cedar planter early this year and planted strawberries hoping to have a nice crop next year. My cousin, who is an exceptional gardener, has strawberries in raised beds on the ground. I was asking how to protect my plants over the winter. I live just 40 minutes south of Cleveland, so we get some pretty hard winters here. I don't think I can leave the greenhouse on them because the snow is very heavy at times and may destroy the greenhouse. We thought a layer of straw would help, and then wrap the entire planter loosely in burlap. Any other suggestions? I have attached a picture of my beautiful strawberry plants.

I have 4 of the 48 inch cedar raised beds on my front porch. I live on the Central Coast of Oregon, and the conditions are not favorable for gardeners unless your using a hoop or greenhouse. Everything was started from seed. Tomatoes, cucumbers, thyme, sage, 3 kinds of basil, cilantro and sugar peas. Also three kinds of carrots and lots of dill as I'm the second planting of the dill. Cant say enough how easy and functional these planters are. Thank you for a great product. Scotty

Planters are beautiful! Took a handy man b-in-law an hour to set up each box. Liners fit perfectly, but you have to put holes in the bottom of the liner to allow it to drain. I used an awl and made many small holes allowing it to finally drain. Must use good quality potting soil as per instructions. Plants look happy

I really like these planters. They are QUALITY products. We did have to drill 4 of the holes to get the screws in but the vast majority lined up perfectly. The extra feet are very nice too. I like that there are only a few inches between the bottom of the box & the ground.

After assembling the first 3 of the four planter boxes we bought, we were so happy with this product. However, we found the 4th box delivered damaged, with end pieces split/broken and two missing stands. The package of nuts/bolts opened too. The customer support and response time were quick, and this issue was resolved immediately, with new end pieces, the 2 missing stands shipped out and now received, and the 4th box assembled. Both the comments are the reason this product gets 5 stars. We will be purchasing a couple of smaller planter boxes soon.

Love the red cedar (although is there a ton of white cedar in Ontario?) and a great design. All the bolt holes in the cedar lined up on the corner pieces, so assembly was painless. I know from other cedar projects that it is a soft wood, so I was careful not to overtighten the bolts and crush the wood, but it might be helpful if you determined the proper torque amount. To preserve the clear look and color, I finished the exterior with 6 coats of exterior polyurethane, but realized it would have been better if I had finished them BEFORE assembly.

Pros: Easy to assemble alone, dimesions were accurate, and the planter is sturdy. Attractive in appearance and sits on our patio. The instructions were included in a video which was helpful for orienting the panels.
Cons: The wood is a bit more rough than expected, so watch out for splinters! The instructions were video only, which was a little challenging when working outside (glare) and needing to pause the video and scroll to find specific parts.

After doing extensive research both on the internet and in person, and then extensive time spent looking at reviews on Cedar Planters website, we decided to purchase 6 of the 48" planter boxes and 2 of the 24" raised garden boxes. It was an investment towards our greater investment in our outdoor landscaping project.
We opted to put a stain/sealant on them as we get a lot of direct sunlight in Southern California (from sunrise to sunset) and felt they could use added protection plus they blended well with our pavers. The process of staining/sealing them took some time and we had to do some touchup to many pieces. Once we got into a groove, we realized more stain was better and ensuring that you go from end to end, back and forth, without stopping (wax on, wax off method) was the best way to do them.
We tried we assembled them after we watched the assembly video on the website, but it was outdated information. The correct assembly instructions were accessed by a QR code on the bag of supplies that came within each box. Assembly took some time as we had 8 boxes and there are a lot of screw/bolts to put together. Some were done with a power drill, but others had to be done by hand due to angles.
In addition, we had a few pieces that either were broken in shipping or were slightly misaligned when assembled before shipping. We reached out and were able to get replacement pieces.
We put them outside, set up the irrigation, set up the lighting, we put a few inches of river rock at the bottom, put in the included black cloth, filled each one with potting soil and various plantings, and in about 7 hours - voila!
We have had many people come to our door to look at them as they can be seen across the pond in our community. We have sent information to many and expect to give many more referrals in the future.
We love the look and are thrilled with our selections as they complete the entire property.

A partir de cette boîte jardinière mon idée est de la rendre plus durable par un vernis et aussi de concevoir des boîtes à fleurs qui pourront se mettre sur un balcon ou un rebord de fenêtres de manière à faire un tout harmonisé dont la teinte ne changera pas avec le temps... Nous cherchons à l'améliorer en lui créant un système d'irrigation permettant d'arroser via les racines tout en conservant l'humidité requise de la terre ... ( à suivre )

Some of the pre drilled holes were wrong and I had to redrill. Some of the pieces were cracked where they’d been attached. Overall mostly nice. But the places the drilled holes literally were on the edges of the wood should not have been sent that way.

When the boxes arrived I hesitated to open them at first because I wasn't sure I could build them myself, but to my pleasant surprise, it was super easy! You get all the parts you need without having to plan and shop for everything. The wood and frames are pre-drilled and watching a video is so much better than paper instructions. I think it took me less than 15 minutes each and they look amazing. So glad I decided to go ahead and buy these high end cedar planters.

The cherry tomatoes and the herbs I grew this summer in the first planter I purchased this past spring were fantastic! RUN, do not walk to buy yourself a Cedar Planter! I have purchased these cedar boxes twice now. The first purchase were two of the small square boxes, which now frame the entrance gate to our home on Salt Spring Island. The second is a longer 18" x 24" planter box which sits on one side of our outdoor living room. I cannot tell you how many of our friends comment on the beauty and quality of the boxes. Sure, I am a good planter, but these cedar planters my friends bring the word "classy" to a new level. Great customer service from Jason and Haley, and honestly, really, really easy to assemble - even for an assembly challenged guy like me. Do yourself and your home a favour and get yourself a Cedar Planter - even better get several!

These planters look so nice at our house. They were shipped in good shape and the instructions were well written. We did have some alignment issues and the boards in the bottom don't quite cover the whole bottom of the planter, but we improvised. Plants are in, but we choose to keep them in pots rather that fill the planter with dirt. Easier if they need to be relocated seasonally or to use with holiday decorations instead of plants. Bonus is they smell great.

My husband found the cedar boxes easy to put together. They are very well made, the cedar wood has a wonderful fragrance. We purchased the boxes to be able to add some colour to our garden and just planted annuals in the box yesterday. The video instructions were great.
